Mosaic Designs by Jennifer Hill

How I got started...

Ever since I was little, I was cutting up magazines and making collages on papers, binders and boxes or on homemade greeting cards, so I know I always had the eye and the passion for mosaic-type artwork. I was first introduced to glass mosaic design in 2002 when my art teacher invited a local artist into the classroom who specialized in this art form. Even though my first attempt was extremely basic and simple, I immediately developed an interest and wanted to expand my knowledge and skill. I jumped at the opportunity to work in an art studio with one of my mom's friends who showed me where to buy the glass, what tools to use, and how to turn my interest into a hobby. Ever since then, I've made various pieces as a method of relaxation, to give away as gifts, and most recently, for a charity to be auctioned off to raise money. I hope to start selling my work one day, getting commissioned to create something that will hopefully be admired by others.
